Learn to Die & thou shalt learn how to Live

It is amazing that we never think of death as a real possibility in our own lives. Dealing with the death whether of our own or of loved  ones – remains one of the greatest mystery of our own lives.

Although many people are dying everyday most of us don’t realize or think about our death – is it not the hope that we will be living forever- is the greatest mystery of all.

When dealing with death most people go through several stages- denial, depression, & anger sometimes never leaving us totally. Spiritual masters & great philosophers time long have said & written much on how to reach &remain in a state of acceptance. The following story of a grieving woman & Buddha’s advice to her – that death is universal & inevitable so should be accepted as being inevitable path of life.

A woman grieving the loss of her only son asks Buddha to bring him back to life- Buddha asks her to bring a single mustard seed from a house where there has never been any death. Failing to find a single house where there had been no death, the inconsolable mother now accepts her loss-she even goes one step further & joins Buddha’s order & followings in his spiritual journey.

Whatever our belief system it is clear that by focusing on helping the departed soul our own grief vanishes slowly but steadily-& we will understand the impermanence of life i.e. to learn to die & we will automatically learn to live.

ek sahswat katha

ek shaswat katha

jisse sahas kahe ya vyatha.....

ek talab kinare ki emarat mein lagi aag..

mach gayi afra-tafri aur bhagam-bhaag..

kuch logon ni aag par paani dala ...

kuch logon ne aag mein ghire logon ko bahar nikala.

sabne woh kiya jo tha jiski pahunch mein.

ek chidiya bhi daal rahi thi paani ....

bhar-bhar kar apni choonch mein.

kaha "  mere bhai main manti hoon

choonch mein bhare paani ki shamta pehchanti hoon

aur kewal itna janti hoon,

ki jis din is ghatna ka itihaas likha jayega

mera naam aag lagane walon mein nahi

aag bujhane walon mein likha jayega."

books ...what they are?

a single rose can be garden ........

but a book is a bouquet.

books are friends....

always available....

easily accessible....

ever complient..

willing to come along wherever we wish to take them.

Books distills the wisdom of sagas over ages ,

transfuse culture across continents,

connect civilisations and project dreams to be realised.

Books open new vistas, vision & requisite guidance to tred on new ways.

Books can be a garden that one can loitre in ,

a playground  and sublet,

it has pages of leaves , paragraphs of flowers, and ink of sweat.

They are written in the lap of nature

and should be read under an open sky with open mind...........

they convert lonliness into joy of soltitude.

Books have no shelf life, they live forever

Pages may fade but not the message........
